Pedal Scooter History
Pedal cars were a popular child's riding toy in the 1940's, 50's, and 60's. As the scooter dominated road travel in Europe it natually follows that the most popular child's riding toy throughout Europe was the pedal scooter. While a few models were made in the USA, they did not measure up to European versions which boasted bicycle strength pedals chains and sprockets, spoke wheels, as well as pneumatic tires.
